Narrow alleyways, magnificent squares and the Elbe as a picturesque backdrop make a stroll through the heart of Dresden an unforgettable experience and offer numerous photo opportunities.

- Dresden at Christmas time -

At Christmas time, Dresden is transformed into a festively glowing winter city that enchants visitors with its very special flair. The centrepiece is the Striezelmarkt, one of the oldest Christmas markets in Germany, which has been held annually since 1434. Between ornately decorated stalls, the smell of mulled wine and freshly baked stollen as well as traditional arts and crafts from the Ore Mountains, you can experience true Saxon Christmas tradition here. During Advent, Dresden also offers numerous smaller markets, festive concerts and atmospheric lights that immerse the city in a fairytale atmosphere. And it is precisely this atmosphere that creates magical images.

- Blue Wonder Bridge Dresden -

The Loschwitz Bridge, better known as the ‘Blue Wonder’, is one of the most famous bridges in Dresden and connects the neighbourhoods of Blasewitz and Loschwitz across the Elbe. Built in 1893, the filigree steel construction was considered a technical masterpiece at the time - without any supporting pillars in the river. The bridge owes its nickname to its light blue colour as well as its admired engineering skills. To this day, it is not only an important transport structure, but also a popular photo motif and symbol of the city.
